Autographed Dan Aykroyd “Ray Stantz” Freehand Colored Pencil and Graphite Pencil Drawing

At the end of 2019, I ventured alone to the Lancaster, PA area to wait outside in the frigid cold of November (the 15th, to be exact) in hopes of meeting Dan Aykroyd. With Ghostbusters still being my favorite movie of all-time, I didn’t want to miss out on the chance to meet Dan. I brought a short stack of prints of drawings I made of Dan as Ray Stantz and my original drawing of him to have him sign in person. I waited outside in the cold for about 4 hours before I got to walk up to his table. The celebrity was there promoting his own brand of Skullhead Vodka and had been signing for hours. When I finally got to meet him, it was pretty quick, but we shook hands, I told him I was a big fan, he complimented my drawing, and I left. It was a little short for what I’d hoped, and I had also hoped he’d write something in that big open space on the right… but I took solace in the thought that, if I should ever get to meet Frank Welker – who voiced the cartoon version of Ray – there’s a nice big open space for him to sign. 🙂
