Jim Carrey “Truman Show” Freehand Graphite Pencil Drawing (1998)

I drew this picture because, I have to admit– Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors. (I don’t agree with some of the roles he plays and some of the material he has in his movies, but there’s something about his characters that always drew me to relate). One personal favorite is his 1998 film, The Truman Show, which this picture is taken from. I drew it in July, 1998, using various shades of pencils, like 5H, 2B, 6H, 3H, and an Ebony pencil for the really dark darks.

I like this picture, but I still look at it today and see things about it I’m not crazy about. I think I’d like to draw him again sometime, though… We shall see…
