Amy and I used to have date nights almost every week when our preschooler son would stay over at his grandparents. But with him in school now, date nights are few and far in between. Right after Christmas this past year, we had one rare night out and I decided to surprise her by taking her to see La La Land. All I knew about it was that Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were in it, it was getting great reviews, and it was a musical. Turns out, she LOVED it, and so did I, and I decided to attempt a freehand drawing of the pair. It was … tricky to say the least, but she seems to love the drawing, so I suppose that’s all that matters 😉  But you can be sure I won’t be doing anything quite this complicated again for a while 😉
