Evangeline Lilly as Kate Austen in LOST

On February 6, 2013March 7, 2021

In April, 2012, I “discovered” the TV series LOST when Amazon.com offered an app for their Prime users for the PS3 system. I started watching the show, got hooked, and watched all 6 seasons in about a month’s time. A month or two later I had my wife sit down and watch it and she became totally hooked. At the start of the year, we started it up again and it’s inspired a new series of drawings from me.

The first is Evangeline Lilly as Kate Austen. When I posted updates of the drawing on Instagram, I cracked that I was tired of drawing all these dudes and I needed a pretty face to stare at for hours for a change. It’s mostly true, too. Ha!

By the time of this drawing, I’d been using all kinds of drafting pencils too – lead holders as well as 0.3 mechanical pencils. Let me tell you that those are a DREAM. I love ’em. And it helped HEAPS in drawing the hair. (Incidentally, as I tore through Burn Notice at the end of last year, I’ve been working on these while watching the Bond series in order whenever my wife’s not around for us to watch LOST together 😉 ).
