My dad’s a huge Godzilla fan. I decided to do this piece in secret for his birthday this year and found the scales to be especially challenging. I then decided to dare to change it a bit by adding in a parajumper and helicopter from other promotional imagery and then highlight his back plates and mouth like he was about to use his atomic breath. (Heck, I even used a Godzilla figure as a 3-dimensional reference to define some areas.) Overall, it was a pretty fun project. Thankfully, Dad loved it too. 🙂 This is a mixture of Prismacolor colored pencils and graphite (but mostly graphite).
