This one is easily one of my favorite drawings I did in 2018. In addition to having a beautiful subject (lovely model Simone Dawn De Kock), I just found it a fun and challenging image to try to capture. Not only is she lying on a beach (in SAND, mind you), but it’s a tricky pose. So, for this one, I drew it freehand, but almost completely vertically, which was unusual for me, but fun in that it also forced me to see the image differently. After laying it out in light graphite, the rest of the drawing is entirely colored pencil.
